Bojan Krkic : More Publicity, but in Moderation

gabriel

Should Bojan Krkic get more speaking engagements with the press at this stage? Is the earlier always the better?

Stopping Bojan from speaking with the media may have its consequences, especially as, considering his rising profile, a player like him should have more frequent forums with the press and tv.
Not only should he be more exposed to publicity, he should also be made to start getting used to the press from this early stage, as he will have to live with them all through out his career. Putting him in front of the microphones at this point will better enhance him.

Bojan has to accept that he will be a person of public interest, at least as long as he plays professional football in a club like FC Barcelona.
Imposing restrictions on him in this area, just like was done in the Barca B team, may not be very beneficial for him, especially as he has shown that speaking with the press does not affect his performance. He has proved to be a level headed, mature and composed person inwardly, who is not given to airs and who has a strong personality that will not likely be affected by praises, nice comments, comparison's or even by negative remarks and criticism. No need to be afraid that such exposures will derail him psychologically and subsequent in his physical performance.

Besides, he will eventually become a constant feature in the news and more needs to be heard from him. There is no need to be afraid that familiarising him with the press will alter his course along a negative direction.
Organising speaking engagements with the press should be encouraged for him and he may prove to be a crack hit both on and outside the football.

On the other hand the media have to understand that they are dealing with an innocent 16-year old school boy, who has to learn a lot on his long way to become one of football´s world stars.

The media should be aware that for a long lasting good relation there are always two sides who have to put their efforts in and may be sometimes have to compromise. It would not be right to hunt such a young player and make him to the play ball of the media.
He will have ups and downs in his career and press should not take advantage of every little mistake or error. The media has to be aware that they deal with a teenager.

In our opinion, it would be wrong to make the life of such a gifted talent more difficult than it should be.
In the long term, both sides should have an interest in a good relationship and not destroy an incredible asset, that their is.

Everything in moderation, as well as fair play on and off the pitch.

Bojan's lone strike hands Spain Euro U17 Trophy

U17 EURO, Final
SPAIN – ENGLAND 1-0 (0-0)

Stadium: Luc Varenne Stadium – Referee: Dejan Filipovic - SRB

Goals:
1-0 Krkic(48')

Spain: De Egea, Jimenez, Morgado, Rochela, Camacho, Ximo (Gonzalez 78'), Krkic, Merida (Nacho 80'), Porcar, Falque (Isma 79'), Rodriguez

England: Steele, Ofori Twumasi, Mattock, Pearce, Spence, Welbeck, Rose (Gosling 56'), Murphy, Moses (Franks 76'), Woods,Porritt (Plummer 60')

Spain proved bookmakers right as they lifted the European U17 Championship Trophy on Sunday after a scintillating display in the final match against England.

Firing on all cylinders, they showed pure class and talent in every department of the game and shone especially brightest in the 48th minute when their star striker Bojan Krkic riffled home a left-footer into the English net with keeper Jason Steele unable to stop the sizzler.

This was the third time in 2 matches that Bojan scored against England, as he had earlier struck twice against them 8 months ago.

He even got yet another goal in the 71st minute, but the goal was disallowed for offside by referee Filipovic.

After being responsible for all of Spain's goals in the semi-final and final, little still needs to be proved about Bojan's potential future dominance of European goalscorers chart. His vital goals have helped Spain win the Euro U17 Trophy for the sixth time.

For young Bojan and Spain, it is a mission accomplished.

Bojan the fuel for Spanish motor at EURO U17

sven
12th May 2007

Bojan Krkic was the fuel that the Spanish motor needed to pass a strong Belgian side and to reach the EURO U17 final.
The tired forward who played 5 matches in only 12 days had found his form just at the right moment, before the semifinal and final.

Bojan, who was dangerous throughout the game, scored an incredible important and also beautiful goal for Spain just a few minutes before the end. The goal helped Spain to go into extra time and then to win on penalties.

One of the Spanish players who know him best is Barca teammate Iago Falqué, who played the last six seasons together in the Blaugrana youth teams. He explained:

I have seen him marking many goals like the one against Belgium. this is the reason, why it did not surprise me.

Another Barca team mate, David González was very happy for his companion Bojan:

We needed this one goal and when Bojan missed on his first occasions I told the rest of the players on the bench to calm down. I told them, the next time he will not miss again. He scored a great goal from a long distance shot.
If there is somebody who has the quality to fire us to the title and who is able to rescue the sinking ship, if he had to, then it is without doubt Bojan.

Camacho, who played for the suspended Pichu in midfield, is another one of the player´s who praises the qualities of Bojan:

I have never seen him playing badly, even when he did not score. It is clear that if Bojan is in form he is a benefit to the whole team.

The Spanish U17 players are all fond of Bojan´s playing and scoring abilities and the hope of winning the title for the sixth time is based on the young Blaugrana player. They all have the same opinion: Bojan will be decisive in the final!

of will be decisive in the end.

Hard fighting host country Belgium could not subdue the superior fire power from a tougher opponent in Thursday’s semi-final match against the favourites, Spain.

Though playing against ten man Spain and with blitz attacks from youngsters like Harzard and De Pauw, it was the precocious effort of Bojan Krkic’s 72nd minute equalizer that changed the course of the entire game and ensured Spain maintained their presence and dominance in the tournament, even after going down with an own goal through a deflection from Rochela nine minutes earlier.

Bojan had, before his equalizer, sent many warning signs of potential goals, most memorable of which was his 65th minute superb strike that canoned off the far upright of the Belgian goalpost.

Spain, anchored by their point man Bojan Krkic, displayed greater wit and resolve for victory and were experienced enough to hold their nerve through the penalty kicks, even after losing their first kick.

Their resilience paid off in the end as Belgium’s Daeseleire failed to convert his spot kick which was saved by keeper De Egea, giving Spain a much deserved victory.

Barca B and C on the Edge of Relegation

sven
09th May 2007

Boith teams, FC Barcelona B and C are on the edge of relegation this season. The relegation of Barca B to the "Tercera" Division would have an impact on the development of 16 year old goalgetter Bojan Krkic, who would be considered to be too good to play in the Spanish League 4. The technical staff of FC Barcelona have to decide if he will go on loan to a higher League, favourably to Ajax Amsterdam (Henk Ten Cate), PSV Einhoven (Ronald Koeman) or AZ Alkmaar (louis Van Gaal) or if he will make the big jump right into the first team.

After the last defeat of Barca B against Orihuela (3-1), without Bojan Krkic Perez, who was called up for the U17 Spanish national team to play in the European Championships in Belgium, the B team is second last of the table with 4 points margin to a non-relegation spot. With only 3 matches to go and Bojan Krkic not available for the team, the non-relegation task is a difficult one.

Barca C is also in danger to be relegated but are in a slightly better situation. In the tercera Division, the last three teams will be relegated and Barca C is fith from bottom on 38 points, but only 2 points away from the relegation zone. The next match is ever so important for survival. barca C play Palafrugell who are already relegated and therefore a 3 points a must be.
