The State of Serbia has still not given up on the pursuit of Bojan Krkic.
Bojan's dad is from Serbia and played for Serbia, but the young goal machine was born in the Catalan region of Spain by a Catalan mother and so considers himself more disposed toward playing for Spain than Serbia. Bojan has played in Spain's U-17, U-20 and U-21 teams and will eventually play for the Spanish senior national team if that will make Serbia permanently forget about convincing the Barca star to ditch Spain and play for the other European nation instead.
The president of Serbia's Football Federation, Zvezdan Terzic, said:
We do not set out to recruit other people's players, but it is not possible to doubt his Serbian origin.
Spanish coach Luis Aragones quickly responded by saying:
Bojan is a boy that is coming along well and we will see, but some players continue to progress and some do not. It is in everyone's minds that he steps up plays with us. Everyone at the Federation, the coaches with the full squad and the junior levels all believe it. He has come through the Under-17's, the Under-19's and the Under-21's and is now one step away from the full team. Also, he's already played for the Under-21's and will could be with us very soon, but he has to play regularly like the others in contention. It is important to be fair if he is playing a lot, but he not playing many minutes with Barça.
Bojan Krkic has made it clear that he wants to remain in Spain and play for both FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team. The teen goal king is not giving his decision a second thought.

Coaches speak out after world cup opener.
Both the coaches of Honduras and Spain have spoken on Bojan Krkic, who raised the stakes very early in the world cup match involving both countrues after Bojan slotted in a second minute goal that altered the course of the match very early. The Honduran coach, speaking after the match, said:
Bojan Krkic is a very skillful player. He is very talented and very slippery and it will take a lot to hold him down. The truth is that he is within the age bracke tfor this competition, but in terms of football, he is far ahead of his mates and his skills are ahead of this competition.
The Coach of Spain, Juan Santiesteban also said:
Yes, I am happy things turned out the way it did. We expected good results and Bojan performed well. In the world cup, every match is a tough match and we didn't believe we would have it easy against Honduras. The match was a tough one, but we prevailed in the end. We still need to do some more work on the team and make improvements where necessary.

Krkic stars in Spain's 1-0 pre-world cup win.
Bojan continued his sojourn in the Spanish U-17 side by making his first appearance in a competitive match since joining the youth side. Spain played Colombia in a friendly and used the jewel of their attack for only 22 minutes, in order to avoid any injuries or unnecessary strain on the young lad who now features for the FC Barcelona senior team at only 16 years of age. Bojan Krkic came on in the 67th minute and immediately upset the Colombian defence, causing very unsettling moments to the South Americans who had just conceded a goal through the efforts of four minutes earlier in the 63rd minute through Andres Vitoria. Krkic caused so much problems that the Colombian defence made him a prime target and fouled him so often that a cruel challenge on Bojan in the 77th minute earned one of the Colombian defenders, Romero a red card.
After the match, the Spain U-17 coach Santisteban said:
Bojan will be very instrumental for our world cup campaign and he is a very important player to us. We shall ensure all goes well and he is given the necessary support to enable him deliver his best perfromance for us at the world cup.
The U-17 world cup starts in 11 days time on August 18 in Korea, Asia.
