The State of Serbia has still not given up on the pursuit of Bojan Krkic.

Bojan's dad is from Serbia and played for Serbia, but the young goal machine was born in the Catalan region of Spain by a Catalan mother and so considers himself more disposed toward playing for Spain than Serbia. Bojan has played in Spain's U-17, U-20 and U-21 teams and will eventually play for the Spanish senior national team if that will make Serbia permanently forget about convincing the Barca star to ditch Spain and play for the other European nation instead.

The president of Serbia's Football Federation, Zvezdan Terzic, said:

We do not set out to recruit other people's players, but it is not possible to doubt his Serbian origin.

Spanish coach Luis Aragones quickly responded by saying:

Bojan is a boy that is coming along well and we will see, but some players continue to progress and some do not. It is in everyone's minds that he steps up plays with us. Everyone at the Federation, the coaches with the full squad and the junior levels all believe it. He has come through the Under-17's, the Under-19's and the Under-21's and is now one step away from the full team. Also, he's already played for the Under-21's and will could be with us very soon, but he has to play regularly like the others in contention. It is important to be fair if he is playing a lot, but he not playing many minutes with Barça.

Bojan Krkic has made it clear that he wants to remain in Spain and play for both FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team. The teen goal king is not giving his decision a second thought.
