Bojan Krkic Speaks After Racing Santander Match

gabriel
22nd January 2008

The youngster was mobbed by the pres after playing a full 90 minutes for the Catalan giants.

Bojan was spectacular all through the game and Coach Frank Rijkaard couldn't help but leave the teen wonder on the pitch for the full 90 minutes of the match, as the crowd - and Rijkaard's tactics - were in sync with the displays and ball distribution by Bojan Krkic. After the match in which a lone strike by French goal king Thierry Henry was the only goal of the match that gave FC Barcelona victory, the press looked for and found young Bojan Krkic, who they interviewed. Bojan made comments on the match as follows:

I think the most important thing is to win and stay alive in the three competitions. We’re in a situation where the result is more important. We must be patient. We’ll soon start playing well. Madrid could have dropped some points today but the most important thing was for us to win. Villarreal are difficult on their own ground. We’ll try and get a good result in the first leg.

Bojan Krkic will feature for Barca in two closely scheduled matches this week. The first in El Madrigal against Villarreal in the Copa del Rey quarter -final match first leg, and the second match in San Mames against Athletico Bilbao in the La Liga just two days after the Villarreal game.

Bojan Krkic Prepares For Spain Senior Team Debut

gabriel
20th January 2008

Bojan Krkic is ready to play for the Spanish senior national team.

The 17 year-old goal machine is not at all over-awed by the possibility that he might star for Spain in the national team's next match against France in a friendly at Malaga, to be played in the month of February. Bojan has been the hottest subject of discussion as the Spanish team officials want to forever seal the goal machine's chances of playing for his father's country Serbia, after Bojan has successfully played for - and scored - in most Spanish junior team matches. Now, the time is right for the teenager to ear the big boots of the senior national team, after Krkic played - and scored - for the senior national team of Catalunya in his debut match. The senior national team of Spain is not expected to be any different. Reacting to the possibility, Bojan said:

I'm going to play football, given any opportunity to do so, and if the day comes that I'm called up for the Spanish senior national team, the selección then I will of course be grateful. If not, it's OK.

February is a date with destiny for young Bojan Krkic. If Bojan plays for Spain, this will make him the youngest player in history to ever play for Spain, at the age of 17 years and six months in February.
